چکیده
Background Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a common and life-threatening complication in patients with autoimmune diseases (AD), mainly those systemic sclerosis (SSc) rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Growing evidence indicate that vascular abnormalities constitute the early phase pathogenesis of these inflammatory [1]. We recently reported decrease angiogenic T cells (TAng), promote endothelial repair revascularization cooperating progenitor (EPC) [2], AD-ILD + [3]. Nevertheless, no studies have been conducted on role TAng presence ILD RA, SSc or other AD. Objectives To determine contribution pathogenic processes vasculopathy fibrosis RA-ILD , SSc-ILD as well their relationship EPC all patients. Methods Peripheral venous blood was collected from 21 patients, 15 . Furthermore, we included 4 comparative groups: 25 - 20 idiopathic pulmonary (IPF) healthy controls (HC). were considered CD3 CD184 CD31 by flow cytometry. Additionally, data previously published Pulito-Cueto et al. [4-5]. Results Regarding vasculopathy, frequencies significantly lower IPF relation to HC (p=0.007, p=0.016, p=0.005 p<0,001, respectively, Figure 1). No differences between found (Figure With respect involvement fibrosis, similar showed than respectively (p=0.006 p=0.044, In this line, higher frequency (p<0.001 p=0.003, Moreover, did not show significant correlation whole cohort 1. Quantification population cytometry individuals study. Conclusion play relevant Interestingly, circulating may be useful biomarker RA SSc. References [1]Expert Rev Clin Immunol 2018;14(1):69-82. Vasculopathy and disordered angiogenesis in selected rheumatic diseases: rheumatoid arthritis and systemic sclerosis
Angiogenesis is important in the pathogenesis of systemic inflammatory rheumatic diseases, a family of related disorders that includes rheumatoid arthritis and systemic sclerosis. Rheumatoid arthritis is the rheumatic disease in which the role of angiogenesis has been studied most extensively. However, whereas rheumatoid arthritis is characterized by excessive angiogenesis, the situation is not...
متن کاملFunctional affinity of IgM rheumatoid factor in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases.
The functional affinity of IgM rheumatoid factors (RF) was measured in 31 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), 24 with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), 13 with Sjögren's syndrome (SS), and in 13 seropositive healthy individuals. The functional affinity of IgM RF from patients with RA was significantly lower than in the other clinical groups studied. In addition, there was a significant i...
متن کاملSynovial giant cells in rheumatoid arthritis and other joint diseases.
The presence of a distinctive multinucleated giant cell has recently been described in the s, a vial membrane in rheumatoid arthlitis and its diagnostic significance has been stressed (Grimley and Sokoloff, 1966; Donald and Kerr, 1968). Although passing reference to the presence of multinucleated synovial cells in rheumatoid arthritis was made by Hirohata and Kobay.-.s'i (1964), thle occurrence...
متن کاملFamilial aggregation of systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and other autoimmune diseases in 1,177 lupus patients from the GLADEL cohort.
OBJECTIVE To determine whether there is familial aggregation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and/or other autoimmune diseases in SLE patients and to identify clinical differences between patients with and those without familial autoimmunity. METHODS We interviewed members of the Grupo Latinoamericano de Estudio del Lupus Eritematoso (GLADEL) inception cohort of 1,214 SLE patients to asc...
متن کاملTocilizumab for the Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Other Systemic Autoimmune Diseases: Current Perspectives and Future Directions
Interleukin (IL)-6 is a cytokine featuring redundancy and pleiotropic activity. While IL-6, when transiently produced, contributes to host defense against acute environmental stress, continuous dysregulated IL-6 production plays a significant pathological role in several systemic autoimmune diseases. In response to the expectation that IL-6 blockade would constitute a novel therapeutic strategy...
